Sumbersuko- Sunday mornings always have a story. For our family, it’s not just a day off, but a day we look forward to—a time to gather together. That morning, around six o’clock, we were already ready to leave for Selokambang. It’s close, only about 20 minutes from home.
But before arriving, there’s a little ritual we never skip: stopping by Warung Bu Ali in Klojen. Warm rice wrapped in banana leaves, crispy fried tempeh, and sweet fried bananas always accompany our trip. The kids know very well that after swimming they’ll be hungry, so bringing food is a must.
When we arrived at Selokambang, the atmosphere felt refreshing. Tall trees shaded the bathing area. The wide pool was filled with the laughter of children, while parents sat on the edges chatting. The water was clear, cool, and truly refreshing.
What makes Selokambang special is not only its spacious grounds or crystal-clear water, but also the stories that come with it. People say the water can even serve as therapy. My own relative, who once had early symptoms of stroke, now swims here regularly, and Alhamdulillah, his condition has improved.
On the way home, we sat under a tree and shared the rice packets we had brought. It may sound simple, but for me, that togetherness is priceless. Selokambang is not just a bathing place—it is a space that ties us together as a family.(AAN)
